A son of A.P. Indy. Flatter was produced from the Mr. Prospector mare Praise, a half-sister to four graded stakes winners, including grade I winner and successful sire Eastern Echo.
Graded stakes-placed Flatter has arrived at the Hancock family's Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky., where he will stand for $5,000.A homebred for Claiborne and Adele Dilschneider, Flatter won three of his first four races before fracturing a cannon bone in a workout that required surgery in which 14 screws and a plate were inserted. He came back this year some nine months later and won an allowance at Churchill Downs, then ran third in the Washington Park Handicap (gr. II). He retired at age four with four wins from six starts and $148,815 in earnings.
