All Along is the dam of group stakes winner Along All, stakes winner Arnaqueur, and three stakes producers. Her last foal, a colt by Atticus, is a foal of 2002. She was barren this year to Cryptoclearance.
Alec Wildenstein's All Along, the 1983 Horse of the Year, has been pensioned. The 24-year-old mare is at Three Chimneys Farm near Lexington.In her championship season at four, All Along won the Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I), and then shipped to North America where in succession she captured the Rothmans International (gr. IT), Turf Classic (gr. IT), and Washington, D.C. International (gr. I).She was chosen Horse of the Year and champion grass female. Bred by Daniel Wildenstein and trained by Patrick Biancone, All Along is by Targowice out of the Vieux Manoir mare Agujita.She was the first foreign-based horse to be voted an Eclipse award as Horse of the Year and the first horse to win the American title without racing on dirt. All Along won the Prix Vermeille (Fr-I) at three and ran second in the Japan Cup. She did not make her first start at four until June, and failed to win in her three starts prior to the Arc. She was sent off at 17-1 in the Arc in a 26-horse field.At five, All Along ran in the inaugural Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT), finishing second.She was voted into the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame in 1990.
