Another Derby Jewel for Excessivepleasure?

(from Remington report)
"Derby" specialist Excessivepleasure leads a field of six for the $150,000 Oklahoma Derby (gr. III) over 1 1/8 miles at Remington Park Sunday.

Excessivepleasure drew post number three for the nation's final main track derby of the year and has been installed as the 6-5 morning-line favorite. Toting top weight of 124 pounds including jockey Jon Court, he'll spot four of his opponents 12 pounds apiece. The other rival, the 5-2 second choice Kool Humor, receives nine pounds.

The gelded son of In Excess is the leading earner in the field with credentials of $889,582, thanks in part to his wins this year in the Indiana Derby (Oct. 4) and the Iowa Derby (July 5). Excessivepleasure also won the Borderland Derby and the WinStar Derby in March at Sunland Park.

Tap Tap is the only local horse and only Oklahoma-bred in this year's field. Owned by Kris & John Richter of Perkins, Okla. and trained by Donnie Von Hemel, Tap Tap won at Remington Park, defeating allowance rivals on Oct. 9. A colt by Pleasant Tap, Tap Tap is 6-1 on the morning line.

The Oklahoma Derby will be contested as the eight race of a 10-race program on Sunday.
