Turkoman to Mira Loma in California

Champion Turkoman, whose runners have earned $23 million, has arrived at Mira Loma Thoroughbred Farm near Mira Loma, Calif., where he will stand for $3,000 live foal. The 21-year-old son of Alydar has sired 31 stakes winners, including grade I turf winners Turk Passer and Man From Wicklow.

Turkoman, who was produced from the Table Play mare Taba, won the 1986 Widener Handicap (gr. I) in track-record time, plus the Marlboro Cup (gr. I), Oaklawn (gr. II), and Tallahassee Handicaps the year he was champion older male. He earned a career total of $2,146,924.

Turkoman formerly stood at Circle H Ranch near Murrieta, Calif.

Mira Loma also announced that 6-year-old Now Voyager will stand his first full season in 2004. A winning son of Carr de Naskra, Now Voyager is out of the Grey Dawn II mare Stay With Bruce.
