In all, 148 horses were sold. They grossed $594,500 (approximately $455,833 in U.S funds) and averaged $4,017 ($3,080). Last year's figures, in U.S. funds, were a gross of $461,366 and an average of $3,751 for the 123 horses sold.
Numberonetreasure, a mare in foal to Langfuhr, brought the top price of $32,000 during the winter mixed sale conducted by the Ontario division of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society. The auction was held Saturday and Sunday at Woodbine.E. Jacqueline Armstrong purchased Numberonetreasure from Schonberg Farm, agent for Gustav Schickedanz. A 6-year-old daughter of Bold Ruckus, the mare is a winner who finished third twice in the Victorian Queen Stakes at Fort Erie.
