Starlet Next for Maiden Hollywood Story

(from Hollywood Park notes)
Hollywood Story, arguably the most accomplished maiden 2-year-old filly in the nation, will make her next start in the $200,000 Hollywood Starlet (gr. I) on Dec. 21, trainer John Shirreffs confirmed Wednesday.

Hollywood Story finished fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) in her last start at Santa Anita on Oct. 25. Although she is winless in four starts, Hollywood Story has earned $146,800 for owner George Krikorian.

The daughter of Wild Rush began her career with a second-place finish behind Victory U. S. A. in a maiden race at Del Mar. She returned to finish second behind unbeaten Halfbridled in the Del Mar Debutante (gr. II) and third behind Halfbridled and Tarlow in the Oak Leaf Stakes (gr. II).

Patrick Valenzuela has the call in the 1 1/16-mile Starlet.

Shirreffs also said that Tarlow had chips removed from an ankle during surgery last week and will be out several months. Other probable starters in the Starlet include Moccasin Stakes winner Victory U.S.A. (Julie Krone), Cal Cup Juvenile Fillies winner House of Fortune (Alex Solis), Cal Cup Juvenile Fillies runner-up Silent Sighs, Dixie High (Victor Espinoza) and Wildwood Flower.
