Razo Registers 2,000th Career Win

Longtime Chicago rider Eusebio Razo Jr. scored his 2,000th career win aboard Shadoc in Hawthorne's second race on Friday afternoon.

The 37-year-old Razo began his riding career in Mexico in 1980 at the age of 14. His first win in the United States came three years later.

The current leading rider for the fall Hawthorne meet, Razo's only previous riding title came in 1988 at Sportsman's when he tallied 85 winners for the meet. Razo has won more stakes races than any other rider at Hawthorne this meet with six victories.

Razo's father, Eusebio Razo, Sr. currently trains on the Chicago circuit.
