Stormy Roman won the Pete Axthelm Stakes at Calder last year before finishing ninth in the inaugural Sunshine Millions Turf when it was run at Santa Anita. After posting a similar win at Calder in the Bonnie Heath Nov. 15, Hills is anxious to try again without the 3,000 mile journey this time. "We really want to go again this year because it's so hard to ship out there, but this time with it here for $500,000...what the heck," he said. Hills is likely to put one on the plane again this year however, indicating Mooji Moo would likely be pointed for the $300,000 Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Sprint at Santa Anita.
(Edited track report) Bonnie Heath Turf Cup Handicap winner Stormy Roman will likely skip Sunday's $150,000 Appleton Handicap (gr. III), according to trainer Tim Hills, but is still very much pointing toward Sunshine Millions Day and a date in the $500,000 Franks Farms Turf January 24. "There's no real prep race for the Millions other than this race and it's kind of a weird schedule," said Hills. "We'll probably look around for an allowance race or something."
