Millennium Dragon Heads Nine in Canadian Turf

Millennium Dragon leads a field of nine in Saturday's $100,000 Canadian Turf Handicap (gr. IIIT) at Gulfstream Park. Three of the nine entered are listed as main track only runners.

The 5-year-old Millennium Dragon enters the Canadian Turf off a victory in the Appleton Handicap (gr. IIIT). The Kiaran McLaughlin-trainee has a record of eight wins from 11 starts. McLaughlin will also saddle Sheik Maktoum's Steadfast and True, who won an allowance on opening day. John Velazquez gets the mount.

Team Victory's Hard Buck, who is unbeaten in three U.S. starts, will be the main rival. The 5-year-old Brazilian-bred, trained by Kenny McPeek, won three stakes in Kentucky last year. Edgar Prado gets the call.

The other entered are: Everything to Gain ( Jose Santos); Remind (Cornelio Velasquez); French Charmer (Chris DeCarlo). The main-track-only entrants are: Light Night; Newfoundland; and Justification.
