Tout Charmant Delivers First Foal

Grade 1 millionaire Tout Charmant delivered her first foal, a Storm Cat filly, Thursday evening at Stonerside Farm near Paris, Ky. Purchased privately by Stonerside early in 2000, she captured the Wilshire Handicap (gr. IIIT) in her first start in Stonerside's silks.

Tout Charmant was retired early in 2002, but did not get in foal, and was returned to training with Ron McAnally. In her final lifetime start on Dec. 21, 2002, Tout Charmant finished in a dead-heat for first with Surya in the Dahlia Handicap (gr. IIT).

She retired, again, with a record of nine wins and 10 placings in 29 lifetime starts and earnings of $1,781,879. Her major wins for Stonerside included the 2000 Matriarch Stakes (gr. IT) and the WinStar Galaxy Stakes (gr. IIIT), in which she defeated that year's champion turf female Perfect Sting, and the San Gorgonio Handicap (gr. IIT). Prior to her purchase by Stonerside, Tout Charmant won the Del Mar Oaks (gr. IT) and three other races for her breeder, the Robert H. Walter Family Trust.

Tout Charmant is by Slewvescent, out of the Batonnier mare Charm a Gendarme.

The new arrival and her dam are owned by Stonerside Stable. Tout Charmant is booked back to Storm Cat.
