If there is a horse for the course, then Testify is the horse for the course and for the race when it comes to the $100,000 Aegon Turf Sprint (gr. IIII). The 7-year-old gelding is shooting for his second win in the five-furlong race on Friday's Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) undercard.
Testify, trained by Randy Morse, won the race in 2002 and was third last year. He finished second in 2001 for the Robert Mitchell Trust.
The gelded son of Pembroke will be making his first start of the year in the Aegon after ending his season with a fourth-place finish in a Nov. 29 allowance race at Churchill Downs.
Jockey John McKee gets the mount and will carry 122 pounds.
The Carl Nafzger-trained Fiscally Speaking will be looking to defend his title when he breaks from gate nine under jockey Jose Santos.
Fiscally Speaking enters the race off a disappointing eighth-place finish in the April 10 Shakertown Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Keeneland. In his only other start of the year he finished second in a Feb. 20 optional allowanceclaiming contest at Gulfstream Park.
