Memorial Service for Wally Dunn Monday

A memorial service will be held for the late trainer Wally Dunn at Santa Anita Park on Monday at 1 p.m. It will be held at Clockers' Corner, a site he visited frequently until his death in late April. The Arcadia resident was 93.

Dunn, a member of the Canadian Racing Hall of Fame, began training in California in 1939. He saddled two Hollywood Gold Cup winners – Correspondent in 1954 and Colorado King in 1964.

South African champion Colorado King also won the American Handicap and Sunset Handicap that year, equaling the world record of 1:46 2/5 for 1 1/8 miles in the former.
