Bloodstock agent Mike Loomer Dies in California

California-based bloodstock agent Mike Loomer died May 25. Services will be held in Hemet, Calif., on June 2. He was 62.

Loomer purchased several successful runners for Barry Irwin and Jeff Siegel's Team Valor, among them stakes winners Demaloot Demashoot and The Professor. He also worked regularly with Richard Dutrow and Laurie Silvera, purchasing horses to run on the east coast.

Lommer helped purchase Toante for Ray Hussa's Green Hill Stables. The colt has won two starts in Argentina and finished third in a three-horse photo in a race there the day before he died.
