Rock Hard Ten Freshened, Bound for Swaps

(from Hollywood Park notes)
Rock Hard Ten, one of the leading 3-year-olds in the nation, galloped on the main track at Hollywood Park on Thursday with an eye toward the $400,000 Swaps Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr.II) July 10.

"He got here yesterday afternoon from the farm," said trainer Jason Orman, referring to Moody Creek in Bonsall, Calif. "He's looking good and we're looking at the Swaps. He will probably work on Sunday, and we'll see where we're at."

The strapping colt finished second behind Smarty Jones in the Preakness Stakes (gr. I) before being unplaced in the Belmont Stakes (gr. I) in his last outing June 5.

The Swaps is for 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles.

Frank Lyons, co-owner of Castledale, said the Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) winner suffered a recent setback at Santa Anita and would be forced to miss the Swaps.
