Courtlandt Farms' Film Maker scored a stylish victory as the 6-5 favorite in the $200,000 All Along Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Colonial Downs on Saturday.
Film Maker drew off for to win by three lengths over Noisette. Lady Linda was third. The final time for the 1 1/8 miles on the turf was 1:50.08. Film Maker paid $4.40.
Film Maker rated patiently under jockey Edgar Prado as Noisette set a crawling early pace of :25.85 and :50.61. Film Maker tracked in fourth while racing along the rail about 3 1/2 lengths behind the early leader. Jockey Richard Migliore was able to keep Noisette on an easy lead all the way down the backside.
Lady Linda made a bid for the lead around the far turn and was nearly on even terms with Noisette after three-quarters in 1:14.89. Prado finally took Film Maker out around the others at the three-sixteenths pole and the Dynaformer
filly swept past in the lane, leaving Noisette and Lady Linda behind.
The All Along was Film Maker's first win of the year. The four-year-old won the Queen Elizabeth II Cup (gr. IT) and the Lake George (gr. IIIT) as a 3-year-old. The Graham Motion trainee pushed her career bankroll to $599,860 with the win.
Prado also won the $500,000 Virginia Derby (Gr. IIIT) on Saturday. The leading rider here in 1997 and 1998, Prado has won three straight Virginia Derbies and two consecutive All Alongs.
