The North American Pari-Mutuel Regulators Association announced the selection of Paul J. Bowlinger as its new full time executive director. The NAPRA board of directors confirmed the unanimous choice of the selection committee after a nationwide search for a new director. Bowlinger will succeed Frank Lamb who is resigning as the present part-time executive director."NAPRA is excited to move forward with the retention of a full time director and Paul's knowledge of and passion for the pari-mutuel industry were a deciding factor in his choice for the position," said NAPRA president Gary Belecki.Bowlinger, an attorney, was previously employed as the executive director of the North Dakota Racing Commission and has also served on the NAPRA board of directors.
"Frank has served the organization and industry extremely well and Frank will continue to be an important contributor to NAPRA as the executive director of racing from Wyoming, a NAPRA member," Belecki said. "This move to a full-time Ddrector and other future administrative steps will assure the racing industry stakeholders that NAPRA is committed to transparent and consistent regulation of an exciting industry."
