Charles Town Races and Slots in West Virginia has announced the cancellation of its live racing program scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 30, after stopping its Sept. 29 card short after just four recorded races.Charles Town officials were forced to suspend operations for the second time this month, having just reopened for live racing Sept. 25 after a twelve-day respite forced by drainage problems affecting their newly refinished track. The facility remained open during the hiatus for simulcast wagering.Charles Town officials said eight days of live racing programs were lost between Sept. 13 and Sept. 24 to attempt to correct the issue which appears to have arisen again. The surface had been replaced in August forcing a near three-week stoppage over the summer.
