Stroll Heads Field in Kelso Stakes

Stroll, who finished second in his first start after three months on the sidelines, heads a field of eight in Saturday's Kelso Stakes (gr. IIT) at Belmont. For 3-year-olds and up, the race is a mile on the Belmont turf and carried a $350,000 purse.

A son of Pulpit bred and owned by Claiborne Farm, Stroll won the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic (gr. IT) on the Kentucky Derby day undercard. He finished fifth in the Manhattan Handicap (gr. I) on the June 5 Belmont day undercard, and then did not start again until Sept. 18 in the Belmont Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II). He finished second to Senor Swinger in his return.

Stroll is trained by Bill Mott and will be ridden by Cornelio Velasquez.

Christine's Outlaw returns to Belmont after two off-the-board finishes. He won the Poker Handicap (gr. IIIT) there in July, and then ran fourth in the Fourstardave Handicap (gr. IIT) at Saratoga and fifth in the Atto Mile Stakes (gr. IT) at Woodbine. The Wild Again colt is owned by R.C. Hill Stable and trained by George Weaver. He will be ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan.
