In addition to "The Works," presented by Lane's End, TVG's Breeders' Cup programming will include a one-hour telecast of the Breeders' Cup Post Position Draw, a 30-minute Breeders' Cup edition of "Blinkers Off," a one-hour Breeders' Cup preview show, and a two-hour post-event program.
Hosting for TVG from Lone Star Park will be Todd Schrupp, joined by TVG analyst Frank Lyons, trainer Tom Amoss, and reporters Caton Bredar and Jeff Lifson.
"The Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships is the biggest single day of horseracing in the U.S. and our coverage strives to capture all the pre- and post-event storylines," said Tony Allevato, TVG vice president and executive producer.
Here's a summary of TVG's 2004 Breeders' Cup programming:
THE WORKS – Saturday, October 23-Thursday, October 28, 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET, with simulcasting on Fox Sports Net 2. The show will re-air each night after TVG's presentation of racing and the following morning at 11:00 a.m. ET. "The Works" presents same-day coverage of the workouts of all Breeders' Cup contenders, along with interviews of owners, trainers, jockeys and other horseracing figures, and timely news and features.
BREEDERS' CUP POST POSITION DRAW – Wednesday, October 27, 12:00-1:00 p.m. ET. Live coverage of the draw for all eight Breeders' Cup races.
BLINKERS OFF – Friday, October 29, 12:30-1:00 p.m. ET. Expansion of the weekly 10-minute program hosted by Todd Schrupp and featuring Daily Racing Form national handicapper Mike Watchmaker. The program will offer analysis of each Breeders' Cup race. BREEDERS' CUP PREVIEW SHOW – Friday, October 29, 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET. The show will be simulcast on Fox Sports Net 2 and will be rebroadcast on TVG on Saturday, October 30 at 6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. ET. The live telecast will examine the horses, trainers, jockeys and owners taking part in the Breeders' Cup, and will help viewers handicap the races.
BREEDERS' CUP WRAP-UP SHOW – Saturday, October 30, 6:00-8:00 p.m. ET. Airing live immediately after the conclusion of the event, the program will be part of TVG's "Trackside Live!: Oak Tree at Santa Anita" and will be simulcast on Fox Sports Net 2
