Celtic Swing Filly Leads Way at Tattersalls Yearling Auction

A daughter of Celtic Swing sold for 48,000 guineas Thursday to top the fourth day of the Tattersalls October yearling sale Part 2 in England. Selling was split into morning and evening sessions, with the break filled by racing at Newmarket. The two sessions saw a total of 122 lots sold for 1,067,600 guineas, at an average of 8,750 guineas and a median of 6,750 guineas.

The Celtic Swing filly out of the grade III-winning American Chance mare Lasting Chance. Consigned by agent Jamie Railton, the filly caught the eye of Middleham trainer Mark Johnston, although he was unable to match the efforts of the Irish trainer Eamonn Tyrrell. Celtic Swing has been particularly well-represented recently by the efforts of the champion filly Six Perfections and the stakes winning 2-year-old filly Slip Catch, who is trained by Tyrrell at his Curragh base.
