Extreme rain and lightening in the north Miami area Tuesday afternoon cause four races at Calder Race Course to be cancelled. Five live races were conducted before the jockeys expressed concerns about safety while the track maintenance crew continued to work on the track during the storm.
Calder's rain-check policy went into effect, granting patrons admissions, parking, and program passes for a future visit.
There is no live racing scheduled on Wednesday or Thursday this week. Live racing resumes Friday with a 12:25 p.m. post time.
Full card simulcasting was not affected for today or tonight's schedule.
