Yearly Report Wins Stonerside in Record Time

Golden Eagle Farm homebred Yearly Report rolled to a 9 1/2-length victory in track-record time in Friday's Stonerside Stakes on the eve of the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships at Lone Star Park.

The 3-year-old daughter of General Meeting ridden by Jerry Bailey for trainer Bob Baffert zipped seven furlongs in record time of 1:20.67, bettering the previous mark of 1:20.98 by Clooney in 2001.

Sent off as the 2-5 favorite, Yearly Report stalked the fast early pace of longshot and eventual last place finisher Time for Etbauer. Yearly Report returned $2.80, $2.60, and $2.10. Homemaker, sent off at 50-1 odds under Edgar Prado, rallied for second, paying $18.60 and $3.40, with Angelica Slew returning $2.20 for third.

Bred in California by Mr. and Mrs. John C. Mabee, Yearly Report has won six of nine starts, with two reunner-up efforts, and earned $835,900. In addition to the Stonerside, the filly has won the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (gr. II), Delaware Oaks (gr. II), Santa Ynez Stakes (gr. II) and restricted Melair Stakes.
