Saratoga Sale Topper to Stand in Oklahoma

Distinction, who topped the 2000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling sale at $4.2 million, has been retired and will stand in Oklahoma.

A 5-year-old son of Seattle Slew -- Omi, by Wild Again, Distinction was bred in Florida by Don Dizney. He was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency to the auction where he was purchased by David Shimmon.

He will stand at Dr. Warren Center's Mighty Acres Farm near Pryor, Okla., for $2,000.

Distinction raced for Shimmon and Bill Bianco's Fog City Stable and was trained most of his career by D. Wayne Lukas. Trainer Bill White had him for his last three starts. He has not run since January.

Distinction won three of 21 starts and earned $78,058.

The sale was handled by bloodstock agent Chad Schumer.
