A 2-year-old daughter of Storm Cat and a 3-year-old 0 filly were both bought by Arch Bloodstock to top Tuesday's session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.The session average was up 36.7% and the median rose 50% over the comparable day one year ago.Top price of $280,000 was paid by Arch for Miss Kitty, a 2-year-old Storm Cat filly produced from the stakes-winning Crafty Prospector mare Miss Prospector. The unraced filly consigned by John Williams, agent, was offered as a broodmare prospect.Miss Prospector herself, also part of Williams' consignment, was purchased by Tim Thornton for $190,000.For the session, Keeneland reported 256 horses were sold for $6,839,600, an average of $26,717 and a median of $16,500. During the comparable session last year, 255 horses brought $4,113,600, an average of $16,132 and a median of $11,000. The 75 RNAs was 22.7% of the total offered Monday.With three sessions remaining in the 12-day auction, 2,200 horses have been sold for $271,498,900, an average of $123,409 and a median of $47,000. At this point in the sale a year ago, 2,186 horses had been sold for $232,687,800, an average of $106,445 and a median of $41,000."The buyers are jumping all over everything of quality," said Keeneland sales director Geoffrey Russell. "Weanlings by freshmen sires are also selling really well. We couldn't be more pleased."The session's second-highest price of $235,000 was paid by Arch for Unbridled Appeal, a daughter of Unbridled produced from the 0 mare Chief Appeal. Consigned by Wimbledon Sales, the half-sister to stakes winner and stakes producer Turkappeal had one second-place finish and a third in three career starts, all this year.Captain Thunder, a three-time winning half-brother to grade II winner Boston Common, was sold as a stallion prospect for $200,000. Consigned by Eaton Sales, as agent, the 4-year-old son of Storm Cat was purchased by Anucha Kiatkajonklai for export to Thailand to stand at stud.
