Here Us Roar Hopes to Make Noise in Selima

Rosalee C. Davison's homebred Here Us Roar hopes to extend her undefeated career tally to three in Saturday's $100,000 Selima Stakes at Pimlico.

Eight 2-year-old fillies, including six Maryland-breds, are entered in the 1 1/16-mile Selima.

A daughter of Lion Hearted trained by Francis Campitelli, Here Us Roar broke her maiden by five lengths before rallying from 11 lengths back to post a narrow victory in the Maryland Million Lassie Stakes.

The Selima drew one other stakes winner, Jazzy J J, a daughter of Jambalaya Jazz who defeated males in the Tri-State Futurity at Charles Town for owner Hickory Plains Farm and trainer Hamilton A. Smith.

The field for the Selima, in post position order, with jockeys (all carry 119 pounds):

1 -- Hear Us Roar, Luis Garcia
2 -- Take a Check, J. Z. Santana
3 -- Jazzy J J, Ryan Fogelsonger

5 -- Jill Robin L, Rafael Bejarano
