Runway Model Could Try Hollywood Starlet

(from Hollywood Park notes)
Runway Model, one of the leading 2-year-old fillies in the nation, is scheduled for shipping from Kentucky to California for the Hollywood Starlet (gr. I) on Dec. 19, Hollywood Park stakes co-coordinator Dan Eidson reported on Wednesday.

Trained by Bernie Flint, Runway Model comes off a three-length victory in the Golden Rod Stakes (gr. II) at Churchill Downs on Nov. 27 at the Starlet distance of 1 1/16 miles. In her two previous starts, Runway Model finished a troubled third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) at Lone Star Park and won the Alcibiades Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland.

Runway Model, a Kentucky-bred daughter of Petionville, has won four of ten starts and earned $580,598.

With Breeders' Cup winner Sweet Catomine not expected to race again until 2005, a field of six to ten is shaping up. Other probables are Oak Leaf Stakes runner-up Splendid Blended (Kent Desormeaux), Moccasin Stakes winner No Bull Baby (Tyler Baze), Alcibiades runner-up Sharp Lisa (Corey Nakatani), maiden winner Revealed (Jon Court), and Oak Leaf third-place finisher Memorette. Possibles include Kenza, Lady Truffles, Charming Colleen and Northern Mischief.
