Gallow Named Facility Manager at Churchill

Churchill Downs announced that Robert Gallow, director of operations for the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars Hockey Club and its Dr Pepper StarCenters, is facility manager of the Louisville, Ky. racetrack.

Gallow, 49, previously was operations director for a a group of seven facilities in the Dallas Metroplex that includes an arena in Frisco that is the home of the NHL club and six other facilities that provide general skating, hockey and figure skating lessons and areas for parties and social gatherings.

In his new post at Churchill Downs, Gallow will manage all service and maintenance operations at the sprawling facility, which will comprise 1.4-million square feet when its $121 million renovation is completed in April 2005. The track's physical plant will include 600,000 square feet of new and rebuilt space when the renovation is complete. The $26 million first phase of the renovation, which included the creation of three floors of Jockey Club Suites andm meeting and entertainment facilities, was completed in Sept 2003.
