Baffert Has Two Babies On His Mind

Trainer Bob Baffert is putting the finishing touches on No Bull Baby for the Hollywood Starlet (gr. I) on Sunday but has another baby on his mind.

"Jill is scheduled to have the baby tomorrow (Thursday)," said Baffert, referring to his wife Wednesday from his Santa Anita training base. "It's going to be a boy. We're going to name him Bode."

The baby will be the first for Baffert's wife. He has four children from a previous marriage.

"No Bull Baby just worked a great three quarters here this week," said Baffert of the Moccasin Stakes winner. Baffert seeks his third Starlet victory after triumphs with Excellent Meeting in 1998 and Habibti in 2001.

A field of five to eight is shaping up for the for the 2-year-old filly event at 1 1/16 miles. Considered definite are Splendid Blended (Kent Desormeaux), No Bull Baby (Rene Douglas), Sharp Lisa (Corey Nakatani), Charming Colleen (Garrett Gomez) and Northern Mischief (Gary Stevens).

Also under consideration are Memorette (Tyler Baze), Revealed (Jon Court) and Kenza.

Splendid Blended, Sharp Lisa, Charming Colleen, Memorette and Revealed would all be supplementary entries.
