Beginning Jan. 1, Portland Meadows Racetrack will change its racing schedule by adding Sundays. With the new race days marked as Saturday, Sunday and Monday, this schedule will eliminate Friday night racing.Post time all three days will be at 1:05 p.m.The changes will be in effect until the meet ends on April 24."Adding Sunday afternoon racing to our schedule enables more families to come out and enjoy the races," said general manager Christopher Dragone. "We're optimistic that the change will be welcomed by the local racing fans."Monday racing will continue. Since its inception, export handle has increased significantly. On Dec. 6, a Monday, Portland Meadows took its highest one day handle in nearly 20 years, a total of $737,302 wagered.
Portland Meadows will also race live Dec. 26, a Sunday, with a 1:05 p.m. first post.
