Churchill Downs has appointed Stacey Meier to serve as the track's director of marketing. The native of Fort Wayne, Ind., most recently served as director of marketing for the Churchill Downs Simulcast Network, a post she had held since 2003. Meier has been associated with Churchill Downs Inc., the parent firm of Churchill Downs, since 1998, when she became director of marketing services at Hoosier Park in Anderson, Ind. Meier moved from the Indiana track to the company's Louisville headquarters in 2001, when she accepted the post of director of field marketing in CDI's marketing department.
In her new role at the home of the Kentucky Derby, Meier will oversee marketing programs and local sponsorships for Churchill Downs and its Trackside Louisville off-track betting center; efforts to build brand awareness and grow the track's attendance and wagering; and the development of fan education programs to help build the track's fan base.
