The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association will host a New and Prospective Owners Seminar at Fair Grounds Race Course Feb. 12. The seminar will feature topics on the business of Thoroughbred ownership.
Speakers include Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association Secretary/Treasurer Tom Early, trainers Tom Amoss and Clark Hanna, Judge Paul Bonin, veterinarian Dr. Jay Addison, accountant Ted Brandon, Jr., and a presentation from The Greatest Game
The seminar will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Phoenix Room at the Fair Grounds and include seminar materials, panel presentations, a tour of Tom Amoss' barn, lunch, copies of The Blood-Horse
and Daily Racing Form
, and a day of racing. The day of racing is highlighted by four stakes races including the Louisiana Derby and Fair Grounds Oaks preview races, the Risen Star Stakes (gr. III) and the Silverbulletday Stakes (gr. III).
The registration fee for the New and Prospective Owners Seminar is $50 for TOBA members and $75 for non-members and includes all support materials, admission, lunch, and presentations. Groups of four or more will receive a discount on the registration fee. Space is limited for this seminar. Registration for the seminar at Fair Grounds will close at noon (EST) on Feb. 10.
TOBA's next seminar is a Two-Day Pedigree and Conformation Clinic scheduled for March 19 - 20 in Ocala, Fla.
