Smarty's Roses Donated to Derby Museum

Edited press release
The Kentucky Derby Museum has announced the receipt of Smarty Jones' "Garland of Roses", which has been donated to the museum by Roy and Patricia Chapman, the owners of the 130th Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner.

"We are constantly updating our exhibits and with the generous donation from Roy and Patricia Chapman, the Smarty Jones garland will provide the museum a wonderful venue with a one of a kind permanent display." Lynn Ashton, Kentucky Derby Museum executive director, said.

The garland was freeze-dried by Molly's Florist in Danville, Ky. and will be displayed in the museum's winner's circle.

The garland will be placed intact in a custom designed case sponsored by Kroger's, whose employees sewed the roses onto the Smarty Jones garland.
