Hall of Fame jockey Kent Desormeaux will ride occasionally at the current Hollywood Park meet but is doing so well in Japan that he will spend much of the spring and summer there."Kent has mixed emotions riding there, but they made it so attractive financially that he could not refuse," said agent Harry Hacek Wednesday. "They just race Saturday and Sunday there, and he won seven races last weekend."Hacek said that Desormeaux continues his yo-yo schedule when he returns to California May 2, where he could ride at Hollywood Park for two days before he flies to Kentucky to ride Memorette in the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) May 6 and Greeley's Galaxy, if the chestnut colt is supplemented, in the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) May 7.
Desormeaux would then return to Japan May 12 to ride there for one weekend, be back in the United States from May 16-26, return to Japan for two weekends and back in the U.S. June 6-16.
