Edited press release

TV Games Network, the 24-hour horseracing and interactive wagering network, set a one-day handle record May 7 with $6,397,203 in bets. Wagering on the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) alone was $2,767,545.

Handle for the day was up 21% from last year, the company said in a release.

TVG also announced record handle for the first quarter of 2005. TVG processed wagers totaling $61,619,882 in the first quarter, the highest first-quarter total in company history and up 45% from the same period in 2004.

"We are encouraged by the consumer demand for TVG's television programming, high quality horse racing content and interactive wagering platforms," TVG president Ryan O'Hara said in a statement.
