Keep Cool went gate-to-wire to spring an upset in the $100,000 Mecke Handicap on the turf Monday at Calder Race Course.Jockey Jose Rivera II rode the Florida-bred 5-year-old Frosty the Snowman gelding to a one-length victory for trainer Victor Falzone. Bob's Proud Moment finished second, 3 1/4 lengths in front of third-place Demeteor. Keep Cool established the lead and never relinquished it in the 1 1/8-mile race on the turf, covering the distance in 1:49.87.

Bob's Proud Moment, a 33-1 shot, returned $37.40 and 15.60, while Demeteor paid $8.60 to show. Final Prophecy, the 11-10 favorite in the field of 12, finished seventh.
