The National Thoroughbred Racing Association has announced it is now accepting registrations for its 2005 annual meeting and marketing summit, which will take place Oct. 10-12 at The Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington, Ky. The two-day conference features an update on NTRA strategic initiatives as well as presentations on fan development, legislative/regulatory issues, group purchasing, public relations and new media. Also to be covered in detail are the NTRA's 2006-2010 strategic plan, the NTRA's marketing and advertising campaign for 2006 and the NTRA/Breeders' Cup's new television contract with ESPN. In addition to industry presentations, the summit also offers workshops on promotions, sponsorships, NTRA marketing partners and NTRA creative services. Activities will begin on Oct. 10 with a golf tournament to benefit the Joe Hirsch Scholarship Fund at the University of Kentucky. The Oct. 11 session will include an update and question-and-answer with NTRA commissioner D.G. Van Clief, Jr. The conference will conclude Oct. 12, followed by an afternoon of racing at Keeneland.
"Having this year's annual meeting and marketing summit in Lexington should make attendance convenient for a wide cross section of our membership," said Keith Chamblin, senior vice president -- industry relations and marketing for the NTRA. "We look forward to an enthusiastic and substantive gathering." Those interested in attending may register online at www.ntra.com
