Lost in the Fog Gets Comfortable at Spa

(from Saratoga track notes)
Harry J. Aleo's undefeated sprinting sensation Lost in the Fog had settled into trainer Gary Contessa's Saratoga stable Wednesday as he prepares for the $250,000 King's Bishop (gr. I) on Travers Day Aug. 27.

The colt and his trainer Greg Gilchrist arrived at Saratoga about 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Lost in the Fog heads a list of 16 nominations for the 7-furlong event.

Also nominated to the King's Bishop is Wood Memorial (gr. I) runaway winner Bellamy Road, along with Amsterdam (gr. II) winner Santana Strings and unbeaten New York-bred The Daddy.

Gilchrist plans to remain in Saratoga through Sunday when the colt is scheduled to work five furlongs with jockey Edgar Prado aboard.

"The trip from California went smooth and he looks great this morning," Gilchrist said. "We're just going to let him get used to the area before giving him a work on Sunday."

This will be Lost in the Fog's first grade I attempt. He won the Carry Back Stakes (gr. II) at Calder his last start. He has also won the Riva Ridge Stakes (gr. II) at Belmont and the Swale Stakes (gr. II) at Gulfstream Park.
