Keeneland Giveaways Tied to Movie Premier

edited from Keeneland press release--

For the second time in two years, Keeneland has provided the backdrop for a Hollywood movie. To celebrate the opening of Dreamer, the most recent movie filmed at the track, Keeneland will offer several promotions inspired by the DreamWork's film.

They include ticket giveaways for the Lexington premiere of the film; free track admission with a theater ticket stub; and "Dream Week"--an opportunity for six lucky fans to win prizes.

Dreamer stars Dakota Fanning, Kurt Russell, Kris Kristofferson, Elizabeth Shue, David Morse, Freddy Rodríguez, Luis Guzmán and Oded Fehr. It was directed by John Gatins, who also wrote the script.

Keeneland provided the setting for the Breeders' Cup. In November 2002, the pivotal match race in Seabiscuit was filmed at Keeneland.

"We are honored that once again Keeneland is part of a wonderful movie about horse racing," said Keeneland president Nick Nicholson. "It is a beautiful film and does an outstanding job of showing why we 'dreamers' who are a part of the Thoroughbred industry love it so much.

"It also will be an opportunity for everyone to be proud of our community, because it portrays central Kentucky at its most beautiful," Nicholson said.

Among the Dreamer-inspired promotions taking place throughout the fall meet are:

At Keeneland's "Breakfast With the Works" program Oct. 8 and Oct.15, 10 pairs of tickets to the Oct. 18 Lexington premiere of Dreamer will be given away via random drawing. Gatins and Fehr are expected to attend the Lexington premiere at the Kentucky Theater.

Every fan who brings a theater ticket stub from the Dreamer movie, which opens nationwide Oct. 21, will receive free admission at the grandstand east entrance.
