Group I Winner Virginia Waters to Be Bred to Giant's Causeway

English mile classic winner Virginia Waters has been retired from racing and is booked to leading second-crop sire Giant's Causeway .

Described as a "brilliant filly" by trainer Aidan O'Brien, Virginia Waters won this year's One Thousand Guineas (Eng-I) and the Dimitrova One Thousand Guineas Trial Stakes (Ire-III). Bred in Kentucky by Barnett Enterprises, she retired with three wins from a dozen starts and earnings of $582,725.

Virginia Waters (Kingmambo--Legend Maker, by Sadler's Wells) raced for Michael Tabor and Sue Magnier, whose husband, John Magnier, is managing partner of Coolmore Stud in Ireland. Giant's Causeway stands at Coolmore's North American satellite, Ashford Stud, near Versailles, Ky.

Giant's Causeway's 2006 book also includes French champion and dual classic winner Divine Proportions (Kingmambo--Myth to Reality, by Sadler's Wells) and English champion and group I winner Playful Act (Sadler's Wells--Magnificient Style, by Silver Hawk), both of whom will be bred for the first time.

Giant's Causeway is by Storm Cat out of the Rahy mare Mariah's Storm.
