Keeneland Launches New Series of Collector Art Prints

Edited from press release--

Keeneland announced Oct. 4 that the first 5,000 patrons attending each Thursday of the fall and spring meets would receive special jockey prints, with proceeds going to benefit charity.

The Lexington track is launching a new series of art prints inspired by the classic and highly collectible Vanity Fair/Spy series produced in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

"The Keeneland Collector Series--Jockey Edition" will feature six successful jockeys who have ridden into the Keeneland record books. At every Thursday of the 2005 fall and 2006 spring race meetings, a new print in the series will be introduced, free of charge, to the first 5,000 paid admissions.

The first of the series will feature Keeneland's all-time leading rider, Pat Day, and will be distributed on Thursday, Oct. 13--his 52nd birthday--as part of the track's "A Day to Remember" celebrating Day's amazing career.

Day will be available for a limited period of time to autograph the print featuring his image.

The Keeneland Gift Shop will be selling all the prints in the series during the fall race meeting. The prints will retail for $25 each and may be purchased individually.

Proceeds from the sale of prints in this series will be contributed to qualified nonprofit organizations through the Keeneland Foundation.

The tentative distribution schedule is as follows:

Pat Day – Oct. 13
Jerry Bailey – Oct. 20
Edgar Prado – Oct. 27
Robby Albarado – April 13
Mike Smith – April 20
Craig Perret – April 27
