Indian Express to Ups and Downs in Florida

Grade I-placed Indian Express has been retired from racing and will enter stud at Monte and Cathy Thomas' Ups and Downs Farm near Citra, Fla.

A 2-year-old champion imported male in Panama, Indian Express missed winning the 2003 Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) by a head in a runner-up effort. The son of Indian Charlie gave it a try a month later in the Kentucky Derby (gr. I), but finished unplaced.

Five-year-old Indian Express won three of seven races and earned $174,628. His dam, Liba's Choice (by Halo), is a half-sister to champion Heartlight No. One and the dam of grade I winner Soul of the Matter. Indian Express' fee is $2,500.
