Racing fans at Churchill Downs will be the first in America to have the opportunity to participate in Fanta-Bet, a competition wagering concept from United Tote beginning on Nov. 3.Fanta-Bet players will place fantasy wagers on designated United Tote contest terminals located in areas of the track's new clubhouse. They will compete for daily prizes and a grand prize of either a $10,000 seat at the World Series of Poker or $10,000 cash. The new Fanta-Bet concept involves fantasy bets, but pays off with very real prizes. Each player pays $20 per day to enter the competition and receives $1,000 in fantasy cash to wager on races at Churchill Downs and other tracks. Winning wagers will pay fantasy dollars based on actual payouts on those races. The fantasy dollars for the competition will be issued to players through a special edition United Tote FastBet Card. Players will be able to view the race program, check current odds and odds trends, place their bets, and check race results through those designated Fanta-Bet contest terminals. Each player's total winnings for the day will also be displayed on the screen. All players will have an individual screen name that will appear on contest leader board monitors that will constantly update the day's standings. The top three Fanta-Bet players who win the most fantasy money each day will take home cash prizes. Smaller cash prizes will also be awarded to players each day. The size of all prizes depends on the number of entries. The Fanta-Bet grand prize will go to the person who achieves the highest single day's winnings over the remainder of the meet. Fanta-Bet will not be offered on Wednesdays during the meet, which continues through Nov. 26."Fanta-Bet is an exciting new concept and we look forward to our exclusive opportunity to introduce it to our fans at Churchill Downs," said Jim Gates, general manager of Churchill Downs.
Designated Fanta-Bet terminals at Churchill Downs have been positioned in several areas of the track.
