Great Pyramid, a winning full brother to Rock of Gibraltar, has been retired and will stand in 2006 at Arthur Appleton's Bridlewood Farm near Ocala, Fla. He will be syndicated and stand for $2,500.
A $550,000 Irish punts yearling, Great Pyramid, by Danehill out of the Be My Guest mare Offshore Boom, raced for Susan Magnier and was trained by Aidan O'Brien. He broke his maiden in his second start at two. That would proved to be his only win in 14 starts over three seasons, though he competed in three group I races and was beaten only 2 1/2 lengths in the Grand Criterium-Luciene Barriere (Fr-I).
His full brother, European Horse of the Year Rock of Gibraltar, stands at Coolmore in Ireland. His first crop races next year.
