Wind Forces Woodbine, Hawthorne to Cancel

Heavy wind gusts caused unsafe conditions and forced the cancellation of live racing at both Woodbine and Hawthorne Sunday.

High winds and gusts of up to 40 miles per hour forced officials at Woodbine to abandon the program after eight races.

Racing at the Toronto oval is to resume Nov. 16 at 6:45 p.m.

Gusts exceeding 50 MPH at Hawthorne, where the final six races on the card were canceled.

Racing at the Illinois track is scheduled to resume Nov. 16 at 1:10 p.m.
