Grade I-Placed Tiger Heart Retired

Tiger Heart, who was grade I-placed in consecutive starts this year, has been retired from racing because of torn tendon in a front leg. The 4-year-old son of Scatmandu won or placed in 11 of 13 races and earned $314,184 for the Fustok family's Buckram Oak Farm.

Bred in Kentucky by Audubon Farm, Tiger Heart ran second in the Nov. 19 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes (gr. I) at Laurel in what proved to be his final start. The previous month, he finished second in the Vosburgh Stakes (gr. I) at Belmont Park. He was trained at the end of his career by Richard Dutrow Jr.

Tiger Heart is a half-brother to stakes winner Miraculous Miss and is out of the winning Silver Deputy mare No Small Miracle. Tiger Heart is at Palm Meadows in Florida. Breeding plans are incomplete.
