Grade I Winner Nothing to Lose Retired

Ken and Sarah Ramsey, owners of Ramsey Farm near Nicholasville, Ky., have retired their homebred grade I winner Nothing to Lose from racing.

A 5-year-old son of Sky Classic, Nothing to Lose recorded one of the year's fastest Beyer Speed Figures, a 111, in winning the 2004 Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes (gr. IT) at Keeneland.

Nothing to Lose also won that year's Fourstardave Handicap (gr. IIT) at Saratoga. His time, 1:39.50, was about three-fifths of a second slower than the course record for 1 1/16 miles. Nothing to Lose's other stakes wins came in the 2003 Tropical Park Derby (gr. IIIT) and Palm Beach Stakes (gr. IIIT).

Nothing to Lose retired with six wins from 15 starts and earnings of $809,210. He is out of the stakes-winning Clever Trick mare Cherlindrea. Breeding plans have not been decided.
