Redoute's Choice, who was produced from the Canny Lad mare Shantha's Choice, is the sire of Australia's highest-priced yearling of all time, which cost $2.5 million. He is completing a Southern Hemisphere season in which he will cover about 175 mares, plus free returns from the 2004 season.
Leading Australian sire Redoute's Choice will be bred to a limited number of mares on Northern Hemisphere time at John Messara's Arrowfield Stud near Scone in New South Wales. A 9-year-old son of Danehill, Redoute's Choice will be bred to about 25 mares. "We want to give him a decent rest before next season," said Messara, who chose not to shuttle him because of insurance considerations.
