Apprentice rider Rosie Napravnik, who was leading the Laurel Park jockey standings when she fractured her left collarbone in a spill on Nov. 12, is to make her return Monday. The 17-year-old, who still ranks fourth in the fall standings with 46 victories, is named to ride six horses on the card. She was originally scheduled to come back Jan. 1."Howard Wolfendale and Dickie Small have live horses they want to run before the New Year so they asked me if Rosie could come back early," said Napravnik's agent John Faltynski. "She has worked at least 25 horses and hit left handed just as hard as before she got hurt. She is 100 percent. It is great to be 17."
Faltynski said he will petition to the Maryland Racing Commission to add the 43 days to Napravnik's apprentice year. She is scheduled to lose her five-pound weight allowance on July 10 but would have it until Aug. 22 with the extension. Napravnik has 68 career victories from 492 mounts and has earned $1,260,235.
