Tortuga Flats and Nob Hill Deelite were favored to repeat their Louisiana Champions Day wins in their respective divisions of the Louisiana Futurity, and both prevailed Saturday at the Fair Grounds meet at Harrah's Louisiana Downs.Tortuga Flats, trained by Ralph Irwin, was sent off at 3-10 odds and endured a stretch battle with Hottamolly to win the $75,740 fillies division under Luis Quinonez. Tortuga Flats paid $2.60, $2.10 and $2.10. The 2-year-old daughter of Wild Zone attracted more than $100,000 in show wagering in the five-horse field, resulting in a minus pool of more than $22,000.The win was Tortuga Flats' fifth in six starts, raising her career earnings above the $200,000 mark for owner John P. Balensiefen. She completed the six furlongs in 1:10.97.In the $79,140 colts and geldings division, Nob Hill Deelite made his move in the turn for home and had enough in the stretch to hold off Carson Bay by a half-length.Nob Hill Deelite, ridden by E.J. Perrodin for trainer Pat Mouton, paid $4.80, $3 and $2.10 as the slight favorite in the field of seven. He ran the six furlongs in 1:11.80.The win was the fourth in six career starts for Nob Hill Deelite, who increased his earnings to more than $155,000 for owner Becky Winemiller.
