Bailey trains the filly's half-brother named Willy Leica, a son of Latarmiss who is Melbourne Cup bound.
The fifth session of the Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions Yearling Sale was held on Monday. The session's top price of $210,000 was paid for a filly by group I winner Sequalo from the top producing mare Oahu Leica. Local Queensland trainer Alan Bailey said he purchased the filly on behalf of Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm. "The buyer really liked the breeding and he was going to buy her no matter what," Bailey said. "He didn't expect it would be that much for her but anyhow that's what happens. The breeding was just what we wanted and she's the complete filly."
